I am still having power problems. I replaced my PS and it didn't work. I then replaced my modo and cpu and it still doesn't work. No power, no nothing. But, my backup APC is showing power and everything else that is plugged into the APC is working. Just not the computer. My laptop works off the APC. My cell phone charges up while plugged in. Everything else works. No power to the computer. I even plugged it in the wall socket and it still doesn't work. I'm thinking very seriously about building a completely new system. ??????????

Great question and thank you for participating. You've obviously aquired a problem on the motherboard. The new ps was no doubt putting out power, since it was new but that power wasnt able to complete it's job once it reached the board. If this is the case, it can be repaired of course thru your nearest Radio Shack Repair or you can, as you mentioned, get a new machine. We sell them too lol. Larry "RadioShack 01-9590"

If the fans don't power up on your CPU or elsewhere then you either have a short on the mobo or the mobo is dead.

It would be difficult to trace the short and almost impossible to fix it. Even if it would be fixable it would be hard to justify the cost.

To be sure you have a dead mobo unplug all adapters... sound card, modem, video card wireless adaptors etc... from your mobo and power up again. If nothing turns or lights up then replace the motherboard or get a new computer
