How do you camp? Tents or RVs?

I prefer tents...RVs are more like hotel rooms, it defeats the purpose of camping.

We use an RV. We drag race on weekends and need the RV to carry the trailor with our cars.

The best way to camp is under the stars no tent or RV give me a sleeping bag and the stuff to make fire and a few fishing poles and I'm a happy camper no pun intended

I agree with you so much but now that I am older and have too many aches and pains (Fibromyalgia and arthritis), I am forced to use RVS and campers, etc. I much prefer the old way of tents as it is more like real camping with the camp fire, sleeping bags, and all of that. :o) More romantic, also!

But one time when I was a kid, my parents and I went camping on the river bank, and all we brought to sleep on was a full-size mattress. The only thing I was scared of was the thought of snakes getting in bed with us. My dad brought along a green water hose and spread it around the mattress in a circle. He told me that the snakes wouldn't climb over it because they would think it was another snake. I still don't know if that's true or if he was just making it up, but at the time my daddy was my hero...lol. :-)

Hi, ya'll. I'm editing my answer to include this. I asked my dad about the water hose thing. He says it's not a water hose...it's a rough-textured rope. Snakes won't go over it because it would scratch them. Sounds logical...lol. :-)

tents, RVs are for wimpy city folk. i like to be in touch with nature by sleeping in a tent and listening to the sounds around...!!!

tents and ruffin it all the way. I grew up in Montana. I am a hard core camper! Tents are fun to have sex in too.
