I was using MagicDisc if that helps. I was shutting down and had a power outage, it was still on the logging off screen. When I try to turn on the computer it gets stuck after the Vista loading screen. It's just black no button presses or mouse clicks work. I don't have a Vista disc, I have the OEM (HP Pavilion Notebook dv9000). How can I fix this? or Can it be fixed? or is it bricked?

How do i start in safe mode? The computer doesn't go past the the screen with the green loading bar.

The options that I get are Windows Startup Repair and Start normally. When I go to startup repair it says that a required device is not accessible. When I do start normally it gets stuck.

If you can help, please provide detailed instructions.

Hi. The BIOS allows you to select the boot order. Double check it. Then try 'Safe mode'.

If you had a power surge from lightning or similar with out a surge protector You may have damaged the computer. You can order a recovery CD from the manufacturer of your computer, it is cheaper than buying the soft ware from a computer store and have it for such cases as this one or a hard drive failure.
Hope this helps
