I'm a lifelong Cubs fan and I believe that this is their year to go all the way. Oh did I give Hendry he** after the Bartman fiasco (I used to coach Hendry's kids); but it was all in fun. I kept telling him to let his coaches have the reins, and see what would happen. It seems like he did that this year, and Lou has done a bangup job of whipping the team into shape (though you couldn't tell from their last two outings, LOL).
IF the Cubs win tomorrow and IF the Brewers lose, then it's a clinch for the Cubs. For those that don't know; a magic number is reduced by one for each first-place-team win (in our case, the Cubs) and also by one for each second-place-team loss (in our case, the Brewers). So yes, the Cubs CAN clinch tomorrow; but I suspect they'll drag it out until the last game of the season. LOL
As for who they will face, I'm not 100% sure but I THINK it is the D-backs. I'll have to research it to be sure. Go Cubs Go!

Actually price, the cubs can clinch tommoroww. If the cubs win and brewers lose, the cubs will clinch on friday. The cubs do deserve the NL central crown. They have the best pitching, and probably the best offensive lineup. The marlins have always owned the cubs, I kinda expected it to be bad down in south florida. The cubs hafta win atleast 2 games,or a cubs win, and a brewer loss at anytime gives the cubs the division. GO CUBBIES!

In the wild NL, the Cubs will finally clinch the division on the last day of the season and - with Kerry Wood coming out of the pen, along with timely hitting - represent the NL in the World Series. It is tough to say who the club will face in the first round until those races are decided.

We can clinch tonight but it has to be perfect but i believe it will happen. The reds have no griffey or dunn and we have beaten arroyo already this year. The brewers have chris capauano facing the padres and he is 5-14 and over 5 era. Maddux facing them and he would love to help the cubs by beating on the brewers. I have my champange over here in ice "Lets go cubs"

I am the biggest Cub fan alive, so don't get me wrong here..........How in the HELL can you say that they "deserve" to win the NL Central?? They can't even beat the worst team in the NL one time. They have NO closer and they are far too incosistant. Try to even IMAGINE them playing the Yanks, Red Sox or Angels!!!!!!! They would be so overmatched offensively, it would be sick. Their starting pitching would be DEMOLISHED with those lineups. I love them with all of my heart, but I 'm not getting my hopes up. Once again, Hendry has made them good enough to win a bit, but in no way do they have a shot to win the World Series.

It's mathematically possible for it to happen. Cubs would have to win though, obviously, and that's not been happening lately.

No, they can not.
They can not even win one game against the last place Florida Marlins.
The Cubs are so bad, they will not even make the playoffs!
