Why is it that celebrities like Paris Hilton can cross the border say into Canada, after she just did jail time. The regular Joe blow cant do that..

Exactly, because money talks and bullsh#t walks. She's a wealthy white women in America. And there are two sets of laws. Laws for rich people and laws for poor minorites. It's fuc$ed up !

I thought the "Regular Joes" could cross as long as they aren't on probation and have proper ID. Even if on probation, their PO can approve the trip out of state. Why wouldn't it be ok for the regular Joe to go to Canada?

Each country has it's definition of criminal records (charges and convictions) that will limit your ability to enter.
Alcohol convictions will not affect one's ability to enter Canada or the US.
It will be interesting to see if her counter part, Nicole Ritchie is allowed to enter with a drug conviction.

KIND OF LIKE GETTING A TRAFFIC TICKET HUH. WILL THEY ALLOW YOU INTO CANADA AFTER DOING JAIL TIME ON A MISDEMEANOR YES. AS A CONVICTED FELON DIFFERENT SET OF RULES. WHY NOT? SHE WAS FOUND GUILTY AND DID HER TIME AS ANYONE ELSE. SHE HAS NO WARRANTS AND IS NOT A WANTED FELON? SHE CAN TRAVEL FREE AS SHE PLEASES--YOU COULD ALSO. I BELIEVE HER TIME WAS FOR A MISDEMEANOR CRIME WAS IT NOT?
