i would only seek revenge if the person causing harm has not realized what he has done or how he has been wrong.

There are a lot of people that I wanted to get revenge with. However after awhile I moved on and determined that I was the better person.
Some people think that forgiveness is a sign of weakness. But I feel thankful, because some of the things that I went through just made me a stronger person.

i would not seek revenge.it is childish, shows how mature you are and at the same time the kind of person you will become through your actions. revenge is like poison and many people do not realize that yet it does not solve an problems.it makes you feel okay yet then makes you wonder if what you did like hurting a person was the best of decisions. this is sort of like karma and it can come back to bite you in the end.it is just temporary feel good feeling and nothing more..learn to let go and become a better person.do not stoop low like others.

Revenge perpetuates anger. What is the point and benefit of this? I can see none.
Exacting revenge is a momentary satisfaction. The underlying anger still remains. Nothing has been gained.
Forgiveness is an understanding and an act of humility. Usually, it aborts the controversy and is reciprocated. That should be the goal.

The problem with revenge is that it is a circle. The person on the receiving end sees themselves as victims and they want revenge too.

Personally i don't seek revenge for it doesn't make a person good. Better pray for him and seek a Divine Intervention to give that person the wisdom to know what he has done or commited is wrong.

No so much revenge as equality. Getting even or staying even works much better for me. An eye for an eye would be idealistic by not realistic. Revenge could make you inferior or superior, not the way for me.

The best way to get revenge is living happily and appearing unaffected by whatever someone has done to hurt you. It's like when your little brother is being irritating; If you ignore him, he'll get bored with you and go do something else.

IMO, revenge will never be useful. When someone harms you, doing something harmful back is just continuing the hatred and is bound to come out again. This will not be good for anyone.
"An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind." (King or maybe Gandhi, I forget - but it's a great quote.)

Depends on the person. The desire to get revenge on someone can bother ppl till the day they die and others can forgive easily and let it go. Also if youre referring to holding a grudge thats different! (4rm experience) Personally thres steps that can help you overcome your grudge on ppl especially if that person has REALLY hurt you. My last blog entry was axually on holding grudges and overcoming them if you'd like to view it - http://www.freewebs.com/penelopemc/
P.S. this philosophical desire is all about misery business.

I seek revenge on the lies. Not the liars. You can't condemn someone for their ignorance. But you can educate them.
