I do, but not as much as I used to. To elaborate:
I stuck up for my kid sister once, when she needed me the most. I was in high school at the time, and a whole *family* saw fit to pick a fight with her. As in, they sent their third-grader daughter over to *rant at* my kid sister with a *clearly coached* bunch of nonsense (the 3rd-grader was using foul language that a kid her age had *no business hearing* never mind understanding well enough to use). My kid sister was busy babysitting, and ran her off....rumor has it the little brat may have been slapped, but nobody was sure.
Point is, after that the whole *entire family* including adults were going to march over and beat up my kid sister. I was the only guy in my family after my folks split up, so I stood up to that family to keep my sister safe.
And I got beaten down, badly, by a talented amateur boxer, his muscle-bound *freak* of a father, while the rest of the bunch *threw rocks.* And then, because I was a year older than the amateur boxer....the family then called the police and nearly had me put in jail for *getting my face stomped*.
It took me *weeks* to recover from the immediate injuries, and years to fully get my head back from the concussions.
My point....?
Sticking up for people when they need you most is usually a *serious* endeavor. And as such endeavors go, it also has a habit of being seriously messed up. My older sister and her husband *could have* jumped in when the dogpiling started and kept me from being pounded, but they chose not to. So much for my family, huh? And I never got so much as a "thank you" from my kid sister, that I saved. Why? Because she was more than halfway psycho herself.
So....while sticking up for other people may be the *right* thing to do, while it may be the *noble* thing and the *honorable* thing to do...truth is, it ends up hurting. It ends up being a sacrifice. And most folks these days just *don't* sacrifice for *anyone*, not even the people they *say* they love. You can call them cowards for it....you can say the Media or Peer Pressure brainwashed them into being passive....
But the point is....sticking up for people is a sacrifice. It often sucks *hard* for the other person doing it.
Thanks for your time. ^_^

No, no need to wonder. I knew as soon as it happened that he was not "the one". Because my one would ALWAYS stand up for me, even if I was wrong!

Yeah I do...but then I realize that sometimes its better not to depend so much on people and to rely on God.
