If she sides with the 6 black youths, she will alienate a large percentage of her viewing audience.

If she sides against them, she will alienate her black audience

Oprah is probably gonna keep her mouth shut on this one

Oprah already offended her "base" when she marked the African girls school with ten million dollars and, left the American poor girls standing in the cold, when asked by a "Times" reporter in an interview why she acted as she did, she stated the "American poor girls didn't deserve anything, they're to spoiled" so, thank you Oprah.

Oprah and others don't do anything for anyone that doesn't get them in the news or, in some way advanced for their own good.

If she's in such a good position to help people why don't she help the blacks of the South, the poor whites of Appalachia that are starving, the poor of the American Indian reservations of the Southwest, without making big headlines? why?

Jena 6 committed a crime, why should any of them get away with it, because they're black? isn't this reverse racism?

First, I'm not sure what her "base" audience is, or how her taking a stance on the issue would necessarily offend members of it. Secondly, I'm not sure who the "them not us" refers to. I presume that if she wishes, she'll lend her support. She's an intelligent woman, and certainly realizes that her support for a small group could impact other things that she does; I'm sure she'll weigh the consequences and act accordingly.

If you view the world as "them versus us" - all I can say is that you need to grow up; the world is ALL of us.

who is them and us?
I love Oprah - she doesn't condone any kind of violent acts - even if its racism related - so don't think she'll be taking up for the Jena 6

Well, Oprah is Oprah. If she sees any chance to elevate herself further up that ivory pedestal, she'll take it.

She might be avoiding it because it's already been covered about as much as anything can be. Let's wait and see what she does.

I never missed Oprah, but now she will back any African-American guilty or not guilty. No longer on my list of favorites,

And she said she is backing Obama for President, why? Is it because he is black, it certainly not on his record. Plus, he said he denounced Islam although his parents and grandparents are still Islam. I understood that when you denounce Islam they would behead you??

If he is elected our next out of Country visitor will be Hezbollah and Al-Quida!!

Think about it!
