What do you do when you are alone with no T.V., internet or radio (Music) & have some free time on your hands?

Question

I hand quilt, embroidery or crochet. I also read. How about you?

* I go for walks or sit in the park
* I garden
* I sometimes add to the book i have always wanted to write.
* I scrapbook for my kids
* I Meditate

~ Being a mum with small children and a teenage daughter with a boyfriend i don't get much time like that!!
BUT
When i do my fav thing is to tidy the house to perfection~ and light some incense and just lie down on the couch for a nap and revel in the knowledge that when i wake.......it will still be tidy!!!

I haven't been in such a fix since the last time the power went out. If there was enough light, I would read. If it was daytime, I would get out of the house, walk the dog, go shopping. If it was night and I had a good book, I would build a fire in the fireplace and read until bedtime. Also, since I would be alone, I would play the piano. My husband likes to watch TV and my playing competes with that, and my son is such a critic, I can't play around him.

I can think of one other thing that a person can do alone, but I will leave that to your imagination. wink wink Was it good for you? yes it was, and thank you! no, thank YOU....

I make candles, soaps and herbal salves and tinctures and other medicines for home use. I love to read when I can't do that or I enjoy sewing up a few things for ritual use. Yes, guys CAN sew too, you know ;). LOL

By the way, What's TV and Radio? I never watch the DRECK that they call entertainment on TV and the canned crap that they call music is not worth listening to either.

I usually read anything I am able to get my hands on. I prefer a good book but if there are none available, I will read newspapers or magazines or even cereal boxes. :o)

I really enjoy doing crossword puzzles or any type of puzzles such as cryptograms and sudoku puzzles.

I also enjoy oil painting but don't do that as often anymore.

I am usually behind on figuring out my monthly budget-thus getting caught up on paying my monthly bills. :o(

I also like to tinker with my piano. I used to play it but have gotten out of the habit and now am really "rusty" at playing so I need to really practice to play "smoothly" on it, again.

There are always buttons to sew onto my sons shirts and that sort of thing to be done.

I know there will always be something to do around here. I will never be bored--that is for sure! :o)

I listen! I listen and hear things that i block out with the things that you mentioned! We had a electric outage,a few weeks ago. I heard a lot of children playing,people doing yard work,birds and other animals. It was very peaceful! It took me back to years ago when this was a quiet neighbor hood. No cars,loud music,machinery. I miss that!

I make baby quilts for anyone I hear of that is having a baby, read, do word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles or sudoku puzzles.

I am an avid reader.I go through at least a book and 1/2 every week..If not reading ,I am playing with my grandchildren.

I love to read, but I also knit hats, mittens, gloves, sweaters and scarfs for the Salvation Army for Christmas.
