"Who you'd be today" by Kenny Chesney is the perfect song. Here's the chorus:
"It ain't fair, you died too young
like a story that had just begun
but death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you
all the hell that I've been through
just knowing no one could take your place
sometimes I wonder who you'd be today?
This is the song that I listen to whenever I miss my son who died when he was only 17.

im sorry for the loss--very. my sister was friends with her too, she sat next to her in geometry or something. she was crying a lot.
and everyone at niguel-thats wehre i go-was wearing blue and stuff on friday cuz of it. it was really saddddd:'[
also, she went to my school last year, and although i didn't recognize the name, once people were showing her picture, i knew i recognized her.
'hello' by evanescence, its not happy, but pretty much sums up what happened::
playground school bells rings again
rainclouds come to play again
has no one told you shes not breathing?
hello
im your mind
giving you someone to talk to
hello
if i smile and dont believe
soon i know ill wake
from this dream
dont try to fix me
im not broken
hello
im the lie
living for you so you can hide
dont cry
suddenly i know im not sleeping
hello
im still here
all thats left of yesterday

LINKIN PARK
"Leave Out All The Rest"
I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
Cause no one else cared
After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I'm done here
So if you're asking me
I want you to know
[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
[End Chorus]
Don't be afraid
I've taken my beating
I've shared what I made
I'm strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I've never been perfect
But neither have you
So if you're asking me
I want you to know
[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
Don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
[End Chorus]
Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well
Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can't be who you are
[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
Don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well
Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can't be who you are
I can't be who you are

i'm so very sorry for your loss. what a sweet thing to do as a tribute to someone special.
at my grandfathers funeral, we played Immortality by Celine Dion. it suited. maybe it would suit you too.
lyrics:
So this is who I am,
And this is all I know,
And I must choose to live,
For all that I can give,
The spark that makes the power grow
And I will stand for my dream if I can,
Symbol of my faith in who I am,
But you are my only,
And I must follow on the road that lies ahead,
And I won't let my heart control my head,
But you are my only
We don't say goodbye,
We don't say goodbye,
And I know what I've got to be
Immortality
I make my journey through eternity
I keep the memory of you and me inside
Fulfil your destiny,
Is there within the child,
My storm will never end,
My fate is on the wind,
The king of hearts, the joker's wild,
We don't say goodbye,
We don't say goodbye,
I'll make them all remember me
Cause I have found a dream that must come true,
Every ounce of me must see it through,
But you are my only
I'm sorry I don't have a role for love to play,
Hand over my heart I'll find my way,
I will make them give to me
Immortality
There is a vision and a fire in me
I keep the memory of you and me, inside
We don't say goodbye
We don't say goodbye
With all my love for you
And what else we may do
We don't say, goodbye

Awww, I'm soo sorry!!! Losing a friend is horrible!!! Well, when a really close friend of the family died, they played this song at his funeral, so maybe it'll work for you too:
Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World
There's no one in town I know
You gave us some place to go
I never said thank you for that
I thought I might get one more chance
What would you think of me now
So lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that
now I'll never have a chance
May angels lead you in
Hear you me my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
So what would you think of me now
So lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that
Now I'll never have a chance
May angels lead you in
Hear you me my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in
And if you were with me tonight
I'd sing to you just one more time
A song for a heart so big
God wouldn't let it live
May angels lead you in
Hear you me my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in
Hear you me my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in
And I'd say if you only need a few lines, use these:
And if you were with me tonight
I'd sing to you just one more time
*A song for a heart so big
God wouldn't let it live*
May angels lead you in
Hear you me my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in

Tears In Heaven By Eric Clapton
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.
Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way
Through night and day,
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven.
Time can bring you down,
Time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart,
Have you begging please, begging please.
Beyond the door,
There's peace I'm sure,
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven.
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.
