Soon it won't be just 'a' Christian, it will be 'the' Christian, and soon he will be infallible (if he doesn't think he is already). Like most cults, the Cult of Bush uses smatterings of truth and twists it to suit it's own agenda.

You know that is not true! And if your were honest, you could see hundreds of ways that His compassion has been seen throughout his presidency. No Child Left Behind, cutting taxes so people could keep their own money and use it as they see fit, supporting the fight against AIDS, supporting the programs that work and getting rid of the ones that don't. If you look at the health bill, over 700,000 adults are on that bill and being covered - they do not belong there and they are taking money from the poor sick kids! That 's why he wants the bill rewritten. You need to get the facts, dear one, and stop pushing ridiculous comments like this one. President Bush is one of the best Presidents we've had.

For all who care about the truth let me explain a few tricks that are being perpetrated on us by our so called representatives. This so called health care for children act is in reality a back door way of providing free health care (free as in financed by you and me) to illegal aliens. Think I don't know what I am talking about? Here is how it works.

This plan has a clause in it that is very interesting. It states that nothing in this bill shall be interpreted as providing health care to illegal immigrants. Now, that sounds impressive but what does that mean? It means nothing, not really. During the debate over the final form of this act, it was specifically brought up (by a Republican) that this particular language is does not get the job done. It was recommended that the wording be changed to "providing the services described in this act to illegal immigrants is strictly prohibited". The motion was denied.

There all ready is a program in place that provides health care coverage to children. It has become so abused that over 65% of the people on it are adults. The same kind of trickery was used then not to prohibit providing the coverage to adults. Now it is illegal aliens that are being set up to get a free ride on our backs.

Never make the mistake of believing for one minute that the title of a bill is required to define the content of it in any way. It does not. You can call a bill anything you want. You can pass a bill providing hand grenades to some street gang and call the bill the widows and orphans relief act.

Free health care for illegal aliens is what this act is about and for that reason it had to be vetoed. By pulling the wool over the casual obsrevers eyes, they can either provide themselves with a new batch of dependant constituents or make the President look heartless.

This is how the game is played, my friends. Read the text not the title.

Here is where you are wrong and are displaying your monumental ignorance on the subject. What people are opposed to is the fact that this bill does not contain any provision for revoking waivers granted to Minnesota and New Jersey allowing them to use this money to pay for adult health care. The second thing he (and many other people) are opposed to is that fact that the children of people making $80K are eligible for this program. It also makes the children of illegal aliens eligible. Finally, it provides a vehicle for big business to cancel existing insurance offerings using the fact that employees are now covered by this program. There are too many negatives in this bill that are ignored and the blanket label of "denying health care to sick kids" applied. This is the beginning of a massive entitlement program that will grow yearly, and there is no real plan for funding it other than raising cigarette taxes, a practice that is reducing the number of people who smoke, thereby reducing the future tax base for supporting this program.

I must have missed that part in the bible where Jesus talked about taking other peoples money so that government can give it to those more deserving.

Easy, his lips move and words come out.

He does have a tell, that shoulder/neck twitch.

EDIT:
He does not want to deny health care to kids in my opinion.
It is just that he uses them for political gain.
Just like everything else, including The US Armed Forces.

Please, why don't you explain compassion. You who loves to hate. Where is your compassion (and respect) for a standing US President? You sound like a...well...someone who might praise the President who just talked at Columbia.
