6(7 + 3g) = - 3g
42 + 18g = - 3g
21g = - 42
g = - 2

1/4 ( 7 + 3g ) = -g/8

Multiply both sides by 8
8*1/4 ( 7 + 3g ) = 8*-g/8
2 ( 7 + 3g ) = -g
14 + 6g = -g
6g + g = -14
7g = -14
g = -14/7
g = -2
