I first posed this question in family and relationships and I'm not getting much action (everyone there is into the singles and dating stuff...LOL)

Any takers?

This is a good question. Making a stand for morality means calling someone's actions to be immoral. It can destroy a relationship.

But if you don't make a stand, then that immoral behavior is assumed to be acceptable. I've had one young person say that it was okay with his parents. Now it turns out the parents disapproved but were afraid to say anything for fear of losing contact with their son. So with the parent's assumed approval, I'm the only one who has a problem with that behavior. The underlying threat of cutting off relations is emotional blackmail. And that young man's parents are now having to face the same behavior from another younger child who is using the same blackmail technique to get her way.
