If Hillary serves two terms, the two families will have held office for like 1/4 of all of our history.

I think it's time for more than a change of families... it's time to revolt!

Well, I don't know about that, given that we'd be pretty much out of Clintons and Bushes to run the show, but I would resign myself to the fact that things aren't likely to change in my lifetime.

Heck, I pretty much already have.

well

we relected bush in 04 (i didnt vote for him) so the country knew what it had in 04, a war mongeror,

so,

if we elect the hillary its after her senate seat, when she "got out of her husbands shawdow" and while its a forgone conclusion it has given her at least a "record"

she will be criticized for iraq support in 02 and 03, and so if elected it will be on her own merits

so in part yeah its crazy and the only precedent is adams and of course bush, but still

bush was re-elected and we knew what we had, and hillary is running and there is a record at the national scene so

i guess im disagreeing in part,

---------

1952 - nixon vp
1956 nixon vp
1960 nixon president
1964 - not fitting pattern
1968 - nixon pres
1972 nixon pres
1976 - dole
1980 a bush vp
1984 - a bush vp
1988 - a bush pres
1992 - a bush pres / a clinton pres
1996 a dole pres / a clinton pres
2000 a bush pres
2004 a bush pres
2008 ? / a clinton pres
so its clear that the "family" thing, in terms of power in the republican party was from 1952-2004 with the exception of one year the candidate for president or vice president's name was nixon, bush, or dole is kind of indictive of the fact that while its not a monarchy it is an inbreeding so to speak of choice

the main reason im disagreeing with your analogy is that clinton and bush in 92 were very different, and bush in 00 is so much different than the previous two, and while hillary is a continuation of bill, its still so much different than bush 00-04

so, if it was "monarchy" the families ruling would have similar positions

bush and clintons i think are hugely different

look at all the neoconservatives attacking hillary

and all the attacks on bill

our side attacks george with the notion of his illegal war

----

I think my conclusion is while power has since 1952 been centered with a few families, our country is still electing and reelecting and nominating these people, and chooseing to pick a different party which has very different vision

so i guess partly i agree but overall in detail i disagree

America is still dealing with things that Clinton screwed up. They are not very obvious, but they are there.

We will be dealing with mistakes that Bush has made for a very long time as well.

Nobody is perfect, but we need someone in there that has the best interest of America and her people as individuals in mind. I honestly don't think that Hillary does. In my opinion, she is a power hungry women. America is going to make a very big mistake if Hillary is elected as president.

The White House Chef is getting nervous already, Hillary is going to eat the White House out of their food budget. Start looking for higher pant suit sizes.

Heck no! I don't think the average American, who belongs to no political party and votes who whoever candidate they like the best, would be willing to vote in "another Bush".

To be fair, I don't fancy Hillary Clinton's chances. "Clinton" is as much a negative word as "Bush".

Too bad those Kennedys got out of the picture. They were going to run a dynasty. What I can't figure out is why anyone would even want the job of President?

At least it is good to know that several undesirable answerers are planning to move or at least stay home on election day.

The best candidate should win. If you don't like the family, vote against it. Just don't whine.
