If the tables were turned and the Jena 6 were white juveniles the same proponents, Jesse James, Al Sharpton, and all the other jokers, would be involved but on the other side. They would be fighting for harsher punishments of white juveniles in this same position.

It was racially motivated yet one is free on bond and will only be tried as a juvenile. It was a hate crime.

If the tables were turned and it were 6 white guys they would sit in jail, have no bail set and be tried as adults.

Why is this acceptable in a prominently black state/community but not in white states/communities?

Pers; Did you even read the article? Some of the boys were old enough to be tried as ADULTS because of their age.

Race baiting by those who continuously cry racism where it does not exist. This was not a case of racism it was a case of 6 on 1 and was disgusting. The 2 nooses that were hanging from a tree was nearly a year before this beating and after a fire that burned down a wing of a school. They are hardly related and the hanging nooses should never have been mentioned as part of this story.
Many 17 year olds are tried as adults, this is not an unusual thing.
6 nearly adult men jumped and beat another nearly adult male, they should be tried as adults.

My understanding is that Jena is far from "prominently black" - quite the opposite really. Is your understanding different?

My guess is that one kid beat up another, the beat up kid was fine (with a black eye which is hardly critical) that same night.

That kind of thing is routinely handled in juvie court, as it should be.

Doesn't matter if the people are white, black, yellow, green, purple or striped. Think about the actual facts of the case stripped of color if you can. Learn how juvie court works and why :)

what does race have to do with it? whats wrong is wrong and right is right. why do you even consider if the tables were turned? this is how i know its not about the crime, its about those boys being black. fact is for a school fight, the boy should have never been tried as an adult. thats the law for all races. the hate crime was hanging the noose on tree. where's the punishment for "attempted murder" for the boy bringing the rifle to school? But you want to charge the boys who jumped that innocent white boy of yours for attempted murder? do your research because its clear here that you are showing your covert bias.

EDIT:
four of the six were 17, Bell was 16. why was Bell also being tried as an adult if LA law states at 17, they are considered adults? If the boys were legally an "adult" at 17 then why were they then considered "child". doesnt make any sense to me. law is law regardless of political influence. what made the prosecutor reduce them to child instead of adult? was it the crime (school fight) didnt fit the bill of an adult?
