in drama class we play a game called freeze improv. 2 ppl get on stage and we have to act out a scene all made up w/o a script. everyone thinks that my scenes are funny, but then i have some ppl who think that i take it to far. i do have alot of energy when im on stage and i try to make the scene as funny as possible, i want to be the next jim carrey. my question is....most ppl think my scenes are funny and then others think that i take them "too" far....what do i do?

Jim Carrey, Robin Williams..........they all take it too far for some. Be you and go with that. Nobody does you better. Work on your confidence and get a tough skin. You will have to in order to succeed in this field.

Don't try to be funny
Play off the other actor and keep it real
Comedy is best when played straight and for real

Then again sometimes taking it too far can be funny

I think you need to keep it under control. By the way, it ought to be pretty obvious from your game, that improv is its own thing, and has nothing to do with actor training, because actors use scripts/
