i know about survival of species, and natural selection. but why? if we all have a common ancestor, how did it split and become more?
what drove that to become more complex and multiply? what was the point? why does life continually get complex... is there any reason as to why it would? and if so what is driving this mechanism...?

no answer yet explains what im asking.... im asking why did this start happening... abiogenesis occurs and then it just keeps getting better? why did this self replicating organism (not literally) decide oh ok, im going to start a process of evolution so i can get better. and change into different things. it makes no sense as to why life keeps occuring just because it does. how did a spontaneous generation just come out of nowhere and create a self replicating organism thats goal by the looks of things is to better itself to ensure its survival through natural selection and adaption?
there is no point of survival. all species do is reproduce destroy and be destroyed and evolve here and there.
the genome has no point to begin, better itself or survive in the 1st place. so why is it made to do these things?

This is caused like due to population isolations, where changes in one population are not sequenced back into the other populations.

The drive has no point other then to categorically reproduce itself, and the mechanism driving it is replication, when not being replicable causes extinction. And these causes are determined by natural selection.

Point: Mutations drive changes in species, and speciation is caused by population isolation, when the replication of the mutation is not sequenced back into other populations, causing the species to diverge more and more over longer periods of time. Natural selection determines which replications are able to reproduce.

> why do things evolve?
Mutation occurs. Natural selection shakes out the ones that don't reproduce as well as some of the others.

> if we all have a common ancestor, how did it split and become more?
Isolated populations, with different selection pressures, different mutations, different genetic drift. Over a long period of time, a speciation event may occur.

> what drove that to become more complex and multiply?
Changing environments and natural selection.

> what was the point?
There is no point, except that the survivors reproduce.

> why does life continually get complex
It doesn't, but sometimes a complex life form can outcompete a "simpler" one. Example: a vascular plant will make shade... which decreases the amount of sunlight a nearby nonvascular plant can receive.

> what is driving this mechanism...?
Mutations and natural selection.

Evolution does not proceed with a purpose or a goal. Little changes happen by chance, and those changes happen to be helpful or not helpful. As time goes on, species become better and better adapted to their environment, or species adapt to changes in the environment. But it's a matter of lucky little differences, not a directed effort.

you have to think about adaptation... if the environment changes organisms can adapt.

not all organisms became more complex. there are still simple organisms out there.

People did not evolve. We were created by God. He first created Adam out of the dust of the ground, then Eve was created from Adams rib..then they had two sons Cain and Able.
