Do you like Marino, an arrogant, whiney, hair-dying Yankee jerk who only cares about his passing records?

Or....

Do you like Favre, the sweet, funny, charming, tough as nails Southern boy throwback to the golden age of football, who doesn't even care what records he has and plays for the love of the game?

Why are some of these jokers saying football-wise Marino? Don't they remember Favre's 3 straight MVP's and Super Bowl to Marino's squat? They don't remember how mobile young Favre was or the devastating blocks he has thrown? How about the fact that Favre probably owns all of the top 100 plays ever made by a QB!

Claybmt - Favre has won many more games with the game on the line than Marino has!

Riverkid must be nuts. Marino had much more of a supporting cast than Favre.

Favre by far. He is the greatest in every aspect.

Favre wasn't even close to the GREAT Dan Marino. Give Marino all the weapons Favre had along with those Packer defenses and The Great Dan Marino wins 6 titles.

Favre because he plays like a kid in the back yard. Favre has a quick release too and he tends to break fingers because he throws the ball so hard. He plays it with class and is a competitor, but knows when to be serious and when to joke around. He just seems like to be a cool dude to hang out with.

Marino was good, but that was the only thing he had going for him. I know they went to the Super Bowl and lost, but that's when you have to find a way to win. He does seem arrogant and I'm sure is dissappointed that someone is breaking his records.

well Stonewall, I couldn't care less about whether they are Yanks or Rebel wannabees......but I do like Favre better.

Honestly I think Marino was technically a better QB..... but I respect Favres humble, unabashed love of the Game. To me that is what defines Favre. He simply, truly loves to play football. That is so rare today, that is what I think it makes him unique. I am not a Pack fan.....realistically, I was happy Elway beat him....cause Favre used to have an attitude..... but in recent years, he has come to represent the Old-School of NFL...and is one of the few classy, non-steroid enhanced guys out there. I love the fact that he really doesn't care about records. It will be kinda sad when he does retire. I hope he continues as a Coach, or an analyst, so we don't lose him completely...like we did other great QBs...like Elway and Montana.

Brett Favre

This is one of the few good questions on here. They are two completely different QB's but you can make an argument either way. I'm a Colts fan and a long time season ticket holder so neither would be in my number one slot however, I would have to give the edge to Favre in this one.

Longevity, TD's, toughness You just don't see that toughness at his position anymore and in the few occasions when you do the person has a short career since they can't take it.

wow what an unbiased question.

Football wise, Marino by far. What you just mentioned has nothing to do with football. It's just a your biased view of Marino, which is totally wrong by the way. I do like Favre's gun slinger mentaliy and his love for the game, but I'm a Miami guy so I have to go with Marino. And you gotta remember it took Favre several more seasons to get to that record than it did Marino.

I am no Marino Fan never was even when he was playing. There wasnt anything special about him except that he threw for 420 touchdons over 17 seasons.Favre is in his 17th season this year and counting the first season he didnt even play in it would be like his 16th and hes at 420.Hes at 420 with 3000 less total yards than marino and 1 year less.

Favre even statisticaly is better

Favre
the Nfl's only 3 time MVP
3 superbowl appearances winning 1
holds the starter record by a land slide (incredible)
The only QB to throw accuratly off balance
The winningest QB record
Most TD's ever thrown by a QB

Favre over Marino by Far

FAVRE, he a lot tougher than Marino, won a superbowl and broke just about all of Marino's records. I agree with you statement about Marino and his records because he publucly said he did not want his records broken. after all the only thing he has is his records.

I like Favre, but Dan Marino was better. The only reason he never won a Superbowl is 'cause he had no supporting cast, unlike Favre.

Consider his accomplishments:

Named NFL Most Valuable Player (1984)
Played 242 games, starting 240 of them
Career completion percentage of 59.4%
Career passing efficiency rating is 86.4
Threw 252 interceptions in his career
First QB in NFL history to have six 4,000-yard seasons (1984-86, 1988, 1992, 1994)
Only QB in NFL history to pass for 5,000 or more yards in a single season (5,084 in 1984)
Led 37 fourth-quarter comeback victories, second only to John Elway.
Holds Dolphins team record for most seasons played, 17.
Had 116 wins under Don Shula – the most by a head coach - quarterback combination in NFL history.
Won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor 18 times in the regular season (and 20 times overall, including playoffs).
Started 240 Regular Season Games and Held a 147-93 record as a starter (second to John Elway's NFL-best 148-82-1 regular season record)
For perspective, his 61,361 career passing yards is the equivalent of having passed his way across the state of Rhode Island.

"Farino?" I like that, 400lbtwins

Marino by far
First of all, Marino was unique in that he had an exceptionally quick release
No one before or since has had such a quick release
He was more accurate that Favre
Marino would have had Super bowl wins like Montana if it weren't for the fact that Miami had such a horrible defense and Marino had to pile up the points to win
Marino had far better judgment than Favre who can be downright recklessly foolish
