The man is unstoppable on the football field. He practically wills carolina to a win at times. He carried carolina on his shoulders to the super bowl a few years back. I think he is deserving to be in the nfl hall of fame. BTW, Carr is half the qb jake is.

I love the Panthers...but realistically....No. At least not yet. He has been hampered by the lack of true play makers except for Smith....whhich is unfortunate....but without the numbers, and more cosistency(which is more the teams fault then his...I would agree)....he won't make it. Smith is a lock.

Delhomme, and Fox are confusing. They can blow a game against the dumbest opponent in regular season.....but the thing I love about them is theat in the post season they both transform into something else entirely. The only reason Seattle played against Pitt in the SB was cause they were able to triple cover Smith. Why...because the Panthers have never had great TEs or a decent 2 or 3 receiver.....and ALL of their RBs were out with injuries. Not Seattles fault....but considering what Delhomme and Smith accomplish regularly, without help, with smith ALWAYS double covered...I think they are the most under-rated QB-WR tandem in the NFL.

Unfortunately...while I see Smith in the HOF....I don't think Delhomme will ever get the numbers.....and the HOF voters dont except excuses. (otherwise Kenny Anderson would be in the HOF)

While I agree with you that Delhomme is a good quarterback, I don't think he'll make it into the hall of fame. If he were able to put together several magical seasons and a super bowl victory or 3 maybe, but that's probably the only way. Manning, Farve, and Brady have set the QB bar pretty high and right or wrong they're the standard all QB's for the next 10 years will be judged by.

If a decision was made today, the answer would be no. He had that awesome year when Carolina went to the Superbowl. I really admired what he did in that game. Delhomme finished the game 16-of-33 for 323 yards and three touchdowns in a losing effort.

But to be Hall of Fame material, you need to show some consistency.

Hall of fame? Did I stumble into the humor section?

Carolina is the most under-achieving team in football; consistently picked to be good and consistently losing games they shouldn't. It's not all because of Jake, but he hasn't played anywhere close to a hall of fame QB. IF Carolina can finally win their division or even make the playoffs then maybe you can make an argument that he's even a Pro Bowl caliber QB. Right now he isn't.

The answer is no. If he hangs around like Elway and wins 2 or 3 super bowls - maybe. Bringing a team to a super bowl and winning is a very different thing than bringing a team to a sb and losing. It takes more than just decent showings for a year or two. He hasn't really done anything to merit the Hall of Fame yet.

maybe if he throws 90 tds in a season and not many ints other than that he has no chance. Carr came into the NFL on a texans team that was suppose to be built around tony boselli who had a career ending injury...he's a decent qb...yea delhomme helped take the panthers to the superbowl but steve smith helped as well as the defense

He's a good cajun boy, and a damn good QB, but not quite Hall Of Fame material. He is in my personal Hall Of Fame for having sex with Ali Landry - the hottest woman on the planet though.

Jake is pretty good but not THAT good yet.
Sure he did a good job a few years ago and
he is still an intense player. He is not playing
this week 'cause he hurt his arm last week.
They have a pretty good backup QB though.
We will see this sunday.
