What a hero is
One who cares selflessly for others without always thinking of the cost to self.
The value of a hero
Is beyond value, priceless.

A hero can be anyone who risks their lives to save others. The value of a hero is very high. This is my opinion.

There's a good book on this by my mate Dr Mike Alsford (University of Greenwich, London) called 'Heroes and Villains', it's available in the States.
My personal hero was my Grandfather, fought with Monty in the desert during WW2 and till his death remained the consummate gentleman.

The definition of a hero is very simple. Someone who does things for the benefit of others. Examples can be parents, nonprofit organizations, or my personal favorite, Bruce Lee.
Without heroes we would not have idols, someone to admire or follow, and we would have little things to describe righteous.

A hero is a oversized submarine sandwhich of your choice, 6" to 1' and on special occasions, 6' or more. On average, I pay $4 and some change for mine w/ something to drink.

To me a hero is someone not selfish he or she does not stop and think about himself in a crisis he always thinks of others first and puts his life on the line without even thinking like our service men that fight wars, cops, firemen and emergency people that protect and help us every day...
everyday people that reach out to others in need and give there time and service in the communities they work and live in :)))
People like musicians that have beautiful talent and gifts from God and make appearances at hospitals and make a sick child smile and give to causes all over the world to fight disease violence because with their money and power and influence they can make a difference to help those that need the supplies and food to me that is such a beautiful thing...
Volunteer people that volunteer there time to feed the hungry in a place for the poor by giving them food and shelter and clothes these to me are the real hero's in the world to help one another be of service and help one another always be humble and grateful for all that you have!!

Yup, everyone else said it in their answers before me, lol.
A hero by definition is a person who selflessly places his/ herself to aid/ save others.
Heroes are also people who live fearlessly and serve as a positive role model for others to follow.
The value of being one? Don't think it (courage) could ever be measured therefore it is priceless.

At least, you know someone has already done a good deed in your stead. Now, it's easier to go on your merry way without the guilt that nobody's out there to save the world from all this mess.

its somebody thats kind to all and does stuff even if they r afraid they dont have to risk their lives to be a hero
