Omg I so know this. Try gargling salt water. Also try Tylenol, ibuprofen, Advil, ect. And then try putting a warm compress on your throat. I get soar throats all of the time. And btw, the salt water will taste really bad at first, but it works.
Hope I helped!

Someone already mentioned this, but... gargle (don't swallow) Hydrogen peroxide, it works so well. I've had a lot of friends that whined and complained about using it, said it wouldn't work, made excuses, etc etc etc. But in every one of those cases, I forced them to do the gargles and their throat fixed itself.
The only other two things I know of which can help are
1) Drink green tea, preferably fairly hot, and let it go straight down your throat.
2) you have a sore throat, completely ceasing consumpiton of sugar will kick start your immune system and make it work better at clearing everything out.
I personally have never used anything for sickness, besides the 3 previously mentioned methods. They work really well, but normally it should not be necessary to go beyond the peroxide. Also, if you become sensitive enough to notice the onset of a flu, and you put a little bit in your throat (and in your earsy through an eye dropper, which you later let drop out), it will nip the cold in the bud and keep it from ever emergying.
I think salt water stuff works, but the smell of warm salt water makes me want to vommit, and I have never had it be necessary to use anything beyond what I just detailed (and hence salt water was never looked into). I'm a huge fan of epsom salts....that's another topic however.....
Hope that helps!
sorry bout the cold :/

The BEST treatment for a sore throat is children's liquid motrin. It doesn't matter if you're an adult, you can still take it. Make sure you take it according to the weight chart on the back of the bottle. It works VERY well by coating the back of the throat and ultimately, it starts working on contact. By swallowing the Motrin vs taking it as a pill, you are able to apply a thin coat to the throat which will relieve the pain. Also, since Motrin is an NSAID, it will relieve the swelling and redness which also causes the irritation. Make sure after taking it you don't eat or drink for about 30 mins or you will wash the coating away. I hope this helps and please feel better!!

Boil water (like you are going to make a cup of tea) then whilst it will get to a temperature that you'll be able to drink (however nonetheless scorching) upload approximately a tbsp. of baking soda (a couple of shakes of salt not obligatory) Don't drink it even though - Gargle with this combination! This cleans out the micro organism and contamination on your throat. If the sore throat is as a result of your sinuses draining, get a nasal bidet. They paintings wonders! They're approximately $20.00, they arrive with the little packets that you upload to the water. It appears like slightly plastic teapot, you upload lukewarm water to the little teapot, upload the packet (it is usually baking soda and salt) shake it up, pour it in a single nose and it is going to pass all via your sinuses and flush them out. The water will pop out the opposite nose. It would possibly sound disagreeable however it is relatively no longer. And when you've got a sinus contamination, it is going to do wonders. Generally, you'll be able to inform if it is a sinus contamination when you've got soreness among your eyes and simply above your eyebrows or round your cheekbones. Also, in the event you get up with plenty of gunk on your throat within the morning, it might even be seeing that your sinuses had been draining into your throat whilst you sleep. Pharmacies regularly convey the Nasal Bidet (despite the fact that they do not look to all be mindful of it). They mostly all have exclusive manufacturer names. One manufacturer title is NasaFlo ( I incorporated the hyperlink under).

Sore throats are usually caused by the cold virus. There are hundreds of different cold viruses. What's worse, many of them routinely alter themselves, posing new threats at every turn. With no cure in sight, the same remedies administered by our forebears remain our first line of defense: chicken soup, hot lemonade, tea with honey. None of these will cure a cold, but anything that eases the agony even temporarily is just what the doctor ordered.

If your sore throat is caused by overuse or dust, gargle with salt water and spit it out. Gargle deeply. If there is any infection, antibiotics work well. Also you might try gargling with Cepacol and add a few drops of Merthiolate to the mouthwash. Remember to spit it out.

Go to the store and get some Cepacol lozenges or sore throat spray. Also take ibuprofen or naproxen along with the cepacol.

Try ginger. I'm not sure why it works, but find some that you can make into tea. Or you could try different medicines for sore throats, like the sprays, but they never taste very good.
Hope I helped :)

Gargling with salt water 2-3X helps me. Some claim relief from hydrogen peroxide gargles as well.
