do people spend sooo much time worrying about what other people think or about what is to come?

one of my favorite quotes is "It's no use analyzing your life the whole time. Those analyses won’t help you when you’re dead."- Michael Ryan Pritchard

haha i wish everybody could have that kind of mentality!
i do agree with you... i think we spend more time worrying than living. everybody should take life as it comes and literally "dive in" to every situation and take it as a challenge. unfortuanetly, in real life it's not so easy to implement. anxiety accelerates for a lot of different reasons in people... and it's probably either a personality thing, a disorder, or a very common instinct (fight-or-flight). the important thing is not to let it get in the way of leading our lives the best we can.

The function of your mind is to predict the future.

The purpose of friends is to help you survive the present.

So thoughts of future and friends are pretty standard.

That said, I completely agree you should do a little living between the planning.

You may not have had the experience of being harmed by others. Those who have been harmed become cautious of others -- what they think, say and do become important. Understanding is the better part of valour.

People want to be accepted by others because they fear being alone. They feel insecure and unaccepted by themselves, so they fill that void by getting acceptance from others. It's pretty funny.
