i just got 6 of them but there all pretty much the same size so should i wait a couple days to try and determine weather there males or females or should i b able to tell lik automaticly? there the only thing in my tank and only 4 of them swim together is that normal? and is it possible to breed these fish in my tank without having to take a pair out and stuff or is that just there better way to go cause my cousin has some blk neon tetras and they breed/spawn rite in her tank with out any seperation so if u can help it would b highly apperciated thanxx

The easiest way to sex Tetras is to look at their mid sections. Females will have MUCH larger stomachs than males. This isn't always practical however if you are dealing with young fish. If you can locate the swim bladder, the male's will be more pointed while the female's is rounder. To breed them, you will need to separate the fry from the parents or the fry will become food. The only situation where you might get some fry to live with the parents is in a spectacularly planted tank with a lot of hiding spots. Email me if you have any questions.
