The number of valid candidates is huge and the problems of the war is huge, and the Republicans want to trip up the Democrats in live-time, because of the presidents approval rating and the number of challengers are just as many on one side as the other as the president is termed out.
More states have moved up their presidential primary, and candidates are having to travel more to get to know those voters. Basically we have two candidates of controversy as well, OBAMA who is endorsed by large endorsements and is a popular U S Senator and graduate of Harvard University, and Rodham who is the wife of the last Democrat President. It's a crap shoot.

The redistribution of electoral votes has nothing to do with the early campaigns. Candidates have announced earlier this time around because they want to get ahead of the others financially.

It has nothing to do with the electoral college, it is just a matter of states trying to get in the limelight by jockeying to see who can have the earliest primaries and caucuses.

No, it's because the media needs stories, so they get everyone worked up into a froth about this. The longer the election cycle, the more inane stories that can come up with.
