I'm not from California, why they do a lot of things is a mystery to me. He is a movie star, and married to a Kennedy. It would appear that he has done a fair job. What many do not realize about him is that he has a degree in economics.

While I do think that the main reason people got out and voted for A.S. is because he is a famous actor, I do not think he is all that unqualified for the position.
The reason I say that is he has done, in the entertainment industry, a lot of the day to day work that he would have to do as a Governor.
Producing a film involves getting budget, hiring staff, spending money, keeping to a schedule, explaining when things go wrong, dealing with emergencies, etc... Essentially what a Governor does with the states budget. As to signing bills into law, well, that is just decision making.
So, maybe he's a safe distance from perfect, but what politician isn't?

I am a former resident of San Diego...I was there as he was elected....right from the start he was AWESOME. He is a no nonsense person who brings the left and right together.... I can't remember a better man in office in my lifetime......
I won't go on too much here but honestly most politicians suck the big kahuna once they get into office...maybe its a power thing..I don't know.... but Arnold has done everything he said he would do...and much more...too bad he can't be president.

I think he walks a very narrow tight rope.
Why was he chosen? The people were exhausted with the incompetency of Grey Davis (and company). Arnold's name was/is easily recognizable.
