First of all, if you are getting married, you need to get used to negotiating problems with your husband, and not just doing whatever he (and your Mom, even though your personal choices as a wife are none of her business) tells you to do.

These are some options:

Barrier methods, including condoms and diaphragms. No hormones.

Hormonal methods, like the pill and the shot. The pill does very slightly increase the risk of breast cancer, but it lowers the risk of ovarian and uterine cancers so the overall cancer risk does not change. It can have some side effects, but if you have painful or irregular periods the pill can be a blessing. But you will have to wait until after breastfeeding.

The Depo shot can give you protection for 3 months, but it can have horrible side effects, and even worse withdrawal symptoms, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Then there are more permanent options, like vasectomy or tubal litigation, if you both do not want any more kids, but it will be very hard to find a doctor willing to do it at your age.

Are you breastfeeding? If so, then you don't need birth control, because breastfeeding is a natural birth control. If you aren't, then I suggest you get on the pill. It's so easy to use. No, it doesn't cause breast cancer. It has some risks, but none that serious. If you don't want to go on the pill, you do have other options. Do a little research at www.plannedparenthood.org to choose something that will work for you.

talk to your Doctor! If you are breastfeeding your baby you can't be on any hormone based birth control. If you are bottle feeding then birth control pills might be the best choice but you have to take them Every day, .... at about the same time every day or you will end up with baby number two!

Well, I think he can do something about birth control aside from ordering you to get on it.
He can use condoms. -No side effects.
He can keep it in his pants. -no side effects
He can have a vasectomy. -reversable.

I personally am on the pill. You have to remember to take it everyday. Otherwise it loses it's effectiveness.

Honestly I think 17 is too young to get married.

Antibiotics are quite nicely everyday for negating the effectiveness of BCPs. in case you probably did no longer use sturdy start administration you may desire to get pregnant. it is basically a certainty of existence. And for the checklist, withdrawal is barely approximately 80% useful in combating being pregnant, on an identical time as condoms are 86%...that 6% distinction isn't a raffle i could in my view prefer to take.

I see that everyone is suggesting the Depo shot, I took that shot, it only screws up your body!!, it does protect you from getting pregnant, but your period will come irregular or not at all, you gain weight, you get moody, some girls brake out, it gives you a lot of headaches, and it has a history or reducing your bone density. I took that shot ones and I wouldn't take it again.

I would suggest the depo provera shot, its really easy because you dont have to take a pill everyday, and you dont get your period for three months, you basically get an injection and its effective the next day, like all birth control it has side effects, so its best to consult your doctor and see what he or she suggests....I hope I helped, and congrats on your new born baby
:) ♥

its called a condom. He can purchase them at the nearest drug store and there are no adverse effects. ( and NO, condoms dont break since they now have larger sizes). Why risk your health taking the pill when HE can take some responsibility. (and NO, condoms dont make you loose sensation, actually it can make you gain some if you use the Lubed and/or ribbed kind). Theres no excuse for him.

I think condoms are the best choice if your man is very responsible. What I mean by that is if he pre cums to change condom. And so forth.
