My best friend claims that the area of his hand does not exist because it cannot be found by any formula.

You could put ink on his hand have him place his hand on paper and then measure off pieces of his hand that look like geometric shapes and get an approximation. If the area of his hand didn't exist then he wouldn't have a hand.

He could draw his hand on a grid with small squares.

Then, you can count the squares.
Then estimate the aprtial squares.

This would give you an area.
