I am not claustrophobic. But, for some reason I can not put a tight mask or hat on my face or head..I feel like my head is going to get squished and I panic. It happen in high school, in Science class.
I was the dummy who raised her hand to try on a scuba gear. That freaked me out. and it was heavy and to constricting. I don't know how scuba divers do it. If your not used to the scuba suit. It can play with your head....I like cozy but not constricting where I can't move my head or face. :) That was about 16 years ago. I still have yet to attempt scuba diving. Plus I have a asthma and that maybe a problem down below...so.....I think I'll stick to land.. :)

YES! And it sucks really bad! I didn't used to be claustrophobic - it started happening gradually after I turned 25 or so. I can't tolerate closed spaces where I have to duck my head (tunnels, caves), and MRIs are a total nightmare (had to have Valium last time). It's gotten bad enough that I don't like to be in the backseat of a two-door car. I can't think of a triggering event ... but I know it's gotten worse over time.

I have this fear of elevators, the small ones that you can't see out of. I always think that the doors won't open and we will all get stuck forever. Seriously, when I was in a hotel over the summer, I walked up 11 flights of stairs because I refused to use the elevator!!!

Yes - I can remember my guy cousins would pester all of us girl cousins; they would sit on us and not let us up. omg, I thought I would go into fits with not being able to breathe!
Also, I spent alot of time at the public pool every summer; we would wrestle in the water and some kids would hold us down under water and not let us back up. So to this day, I can't stand to be confined.

I can be it just depends. If I am in a small area and their are no windows or if my son sits on me (he is 3 and thinks I am a human jungle gym) I start to freak out.

Yes. There's no story behind it. I always remember being scared of small closed spaces. I cannot breathe and start to panic.

YES!! My brothers used to lock me in small places when I was little and keep me there forever, it seemed. Or they would all lay on me and crush me until I cried. I thought I would die a few times.
