That's how many tax dollars we've spent occupying Iraq (on top of the ANNUAL $750,000,000,000 we spend on "defense." - more than all other nations combined spend on theirs).

Gummi - I'd use it to fund the development of alternative, renewable energy sources so we don't have to invade and occupy the oil-rich Middle East.

Sure we could pay off that portion of our national debt which has exploded under the current administration and actually during the last three republican administrations.

I can't emphasize enough how wrong this war is on so many levels. The lives that are being lost, the credibility we are losing in the world and, of course, the incredible amount of money that we are spending. Even if we were to end the war soon the debt will be felt for generations to come.
Meanwhile our veterans are not getting proper care, our Senior citizens are living in poverty, people are without health care and I could go on and on about where the money could be better spent.

Universal Health Care, Fully funded K-12 education system, fully funded Head-Start program, alleviating or ending world hunger, repaying the Social Security trust fund that's been robbed over the years, exploring / financing research and development of renewable, clean alternative energy resources, paying our troops better and ensuring no one who serves our country will ever be at risk of losing their home....I could go on and on, but besides that wish list of mine, I can't think of a darned thing.

It's probably not better, but it's totally feasible to give everybody on the planet $100. Then, declare the world a democracy and use the remaining $200,000,000,000 or so to hold an election for Emporer of the world- who's the majority of the planet going to vote for- the dude who bribed them, or the other guy?

Spend it on making an invicible bubble around earth so that meteors cant hurt us, aliens cant land. :) Then spend the rest on bicycles so that global warming doesnt kill us from th cars before it's too late. But of course, government would rather just do stupid things, rather than save the world. Well, theres my answer. Wheres yours?
