Interesting question. My ex wife cheated on me and when we finally split I got the house and the kids stayed with me.She didn't have anywhere to go so she moved in with her sex partner. She got pregnant so they got married. My kids and my ex mother in-law tell me all the time that they both check on each other to see who is doing what. That has to be a sad life.To bad.

I don't think marriage has anything to do with cheating in it's self. If someone is going to cheat, being married isn't going to change that or compel them to do so. My first husband cheated and I didn't hang around to find out if it would happen again. My second husband was faithful but for whatever reason, always thought I was being unfaithful. To answer your question, he did keep close tabs on me. Yes, it was always in his mind that I might have cheated. But it was because there was something wrong with his faculties.

I was married when I met my second husband to be. I had the first husband's blessings to date, he wasn't interested. I eventually left him...I had no intentions of moving forward so quickly with my second husband but he was persistent. He and I had the same goals as a couple so I gave in. First 3 years were good, but when our dreams didn't come true for a family he became increasingly hateful, accusatory, verbally abusive, etc. That life lasted 10 years. I blamed myself for the downward spiral of my first marriage, I took full responsibility. Some years later he informed me that it wasn't me, it was him. He never took our marriage seriously. He was very alarmed to learn that I had been blaming myself all those years.

People who cheat in one relationship almost always end up cheating in the next one. They don't learn anything. Well, yes they do. They learn that they can cheat and find someone else and nothing bad ever happens to them. There is always someone willing to cheat with them, so why should they stop?

my first husband is still married to the women who destroyed the marriage, but she did not get the wonderful marriage she thought she was getting. he cheated on her for over 30 years, there was some physical abuse, she had to watch him closely and once he came over to visit me and the phone rang and he nearly jumped out of his seat thinking it was her. so neither of them had peace, all she got was a cheating mate and i am sure her life wasn't the happiest.

I was married when me and my husband now got together...
my husband now was my highschool sweetheart- 20 years ago---
so - no, we don't worry about each other cheating - we did this to be together- not to go looking elsewhere....
and yes, it will last forever.....
