Do NOT get the shot until it's been on the market longer. They still don't know all the side effects. Remember Vioxx? Well, Merck made Vioxx, and they also make the HPV shot.

Please wait

Garadasil passed a rigorous trial period, and it cannot raise your risk of cancer. It is impossibility. It is a vaccine for HPV. The virus is what raises your risk of cancer. So far, the side effects have been mild. If the vaccine for some odd reason, harms you, there is a vaccine compensation fund.
The injection hurts because it is given intramuscully (IM). There is always a greater risk with taking new medications and vaccines.
Depending on where you live, you might be required to get the vaccination for high school.
In another few years, by 2010 or so, we might see a vaccine for Herpes 1 and 2.

Yes, the shots hurt some people, not all. But listen to me, cervical cancer kills. I lost my cousin to it and she had a teenage son, and that family will never be the same. You should do anything you can to avoid the risk of cancer. If you're afraid of needles, go in with a friend who will hold you while you get the shot. Don't look at the shot, and have your friend distract you. This shot is not a test, and you're not lab mice. You're the first generation of girls who can largely avoid one of the deadliest female cancers. I wish my generation had had that chance.

I got the HPV shot this year, it wasnt that painful. But only 7 out of 30 girls got it.

We we're sick to are stomaches 10-15 minutes after getting the injection. We were throwing up, nauseau, pale.
it was horrible.

I reccomend NOT TO GET IT!
Wait till your Home Doctor reccomends it.

No its fine. I've had all three doses of it now and its just the same as any other injection. You might feel it a little in your arm and afterwards it'll be bruised for a day or so. Its nothing to worry about, especially if you're normally fine with them :) x

The vaccine does NOT increase your risk of cancer, being sexually active with MANY people increases your risk of getting HPV. -not the vaccine.

The vaccine protects you from the most concerning strains of HPV. Some strains cause a more deadly and dangerous form of cervical cancer, and this vaccine protects you from them.

NOW, there are MANY MANY types of HPV strains out there, and the vaccine does not protect against them all.

You should still be careful and practice safe sex.

The vaccine does not increase your risk of cervcal cancer.

noooo, if they're using you as lab mice then they don't know the true effects of it and if you have an allergic reaction they won't know what to do and you could die or there could be horrible sidaffects down the road in life that they wouldn't know about now.
