Any citizen of India is called an Indian since India is a united, secular state which tolerates all religions and not only hinduism.

Don't say "he is AN Indian." Say "he is Indian." Hindu refers to a religion, and there are many people who are from India who are not Hindu, but Muslim or Buddhist or other religions.

Hindi-An Indian language and the national language of India
Hindustan-a synonym for India used because most of its people are Hindus.

Indian. Theere are people of different religiona in India such as Hindu, Christian, Muslims etc. Hence all people from Indfia are called Indian and not by any religion.

Excuse you but all indians are not hindu just because a smalll majority is doesn't mean we all are. We're sikh, muslim, and ba hai plus countless more. Thats like saying all arabs are muslim.
Isorry but some of us INDIANS take offense to that.
