Also, will people understand me better? Do you think I describe myself better in writing, than in real-life? Think I'll have more luck as a professional writer? What would I be best writing about? Do you think Bassam and I will make peace after I become a writer? Should I donate some of the money I earn selling my books to the United Arab College Fund? (Or something similar.) What do you think? Honest answers, please. No mean, discouraging shyt, either. I feel really good today, and feel that God is in CONTROL. God bless you all. Hugs.

No. Everyone you love will start watching what they say for fear that you'll use them or their lines in your writing. They'll still love you, but you'll notice the difference.

The best way to handle this is to make some additional friends who'll get what you're going through, and who'll understand why you feel so edgy when the words don't come. Find or start a writer's group, a Christian one would probably be best. There are plenty of faithful people who write and blog. There are successful, published inspirational authors who will actually write you back when you write them, or who'll give advice when you meet them. I've been blessed with that experience so much that it's hard to list everyone who has been gracious right here.

A few people who've written me back whenever I've commented on their work are: Claudia Mair Burney at www.ragamuffindiva.blogspot.com, Venise Berry at www.veniseberry.com, Cecelia Dowdy at www.ceceliadowdy.blogspot.com...Wow, there are just so many kind people who will understand what you're going through.

People who are filled with God's grace are (hopefully) more gracious. Hang with them! God bless you in your writing.

Give 10% to God in a tithe and forget the Arab college fund.

Nah - not in the least. In fact, you will become more of a loner than ever. You will spend more time away from family and friends and you will become alienated from them. In most cases I have seen - people don't understand you better when you are writing, In fact, they understand you less. That is true of all artists dedicated to their craft. Pax - C

I wouldn't count on it. Look at how most of the classical writers were viewed in their time -- as eccentrics, possibly insane persons.

It depends on the contents of your book and how it is presented. Also, please realize that you must get a publisher to accept your work. If you self-publish, you might not be taken seriously. I wish you well.
