She sent me a message saying she loved me and now the next day at school she is being mean to me and seems to be flirting with my friend. What should i do????

I'm not sure what your age is but I assume since you are in school you and your friend are young people (teenagers or young adults) which both are very immature. At a young age most girls are not mature enough to handle and know what real love is...If I were you I would not worry so much about it and assume that your friend is still working through her issues of what she wants. More than likely your friend does love you and just wants to experiment and see what's out there first before she commits to you.

A good friend doesn't play games. Figure she's not your 'best' friend and is more like a general friend since her actions sure put her out of the 'best' category. Don't tell her any secrets because she is pretty well showing that she's not consistent with who she claims to be close to.

She's got issues. Don't let it get to you. React like you want to. Appaled, whatever, she's trying to get reactions out of you. Sounds like she's playing games. Don't know much about those. Don't like them and don't stick around long after they've been played. Think of what you want. Do you want to get strung around and ride emotional roller coasters or not.

she does love you, but who knows how, maybe as a friend, she might be mean to you so that you know she means that she loves you as a friend, or maybe she loves you like a boyfrien/girlfriend thing but doesnt know how to act. or she may love you the same way i love a trained monkey.

Well. Maybe she just she liked you as a friend. and maybe just leave her alone for a while. And if your friend is a real friend. Just tell him that you like her and there flirting.

Either she meant she loves you just in a friendly way (think paternal) or she is trying to make you jealous.
OR maybe its harder for her to say it to your face.
Talk to her.

She's probably mean because you either didn't respond to her text or you told her you didn't feel the same way.
Now she's is using your friend to get to you or make you jealous.
