does anyone know how to make a thread loop. I am making a hippie dress from a pattern and it says to use a thread loop for a button. Thanks in advance.

Cut 2 inches of embroidery floss for each button loop, and sew them to the front facing so that they stick out to catch the button. Sometimes a bit of iron-on interfacing or stitch-witchery on the ends will keep the loops from coming off after a while.

Some people also take a tiny crochet hook and do a simple chain stitch with regular sewing thread or embroidery floss to make a thread loop for a button. Once you have two inches of chain stitch, do as directed in the previous answer.
