Honesty is service to the truth, society and justice.
Dishonesty is service to self and ulterior motive.
One builds connection, the other destroys it.
within reason, they are opposed, if not opposite.

Honestly honesty is oviously better then dishonesty but it can also depend on the situation.

Honesty is the truth in making a statement.
Dishonesty is not telling the truth or not mentioning all of what
should be included in the statement. <}:-})

For me it seems to be a better choice. I'm just too damned lazy to keep track of whom I've told which lie.

It has little to do with truth and everything to do with motive. One can make an honest mistake and one can decieve with partial truths. (some people make a career of it)
