If 1 thought of a starving child being fed a wholesome meal actually fed 10 starving children, how many times a day would you stop what you are doing and give your thoughts to the starving children in our world?.

If that's how it worked I would surely think that when I could. But I'm sure a lot of people in the world are too busy or just don't care enough. But I think people should care, we have so many luxuries here in the modern world that people in starving countries can't even imagine. There is a lot in this world that needs to be fixed, but starting with just feeding those that are hungry can have a huge impact on the future of this planet and the relations between the different bodies of people and government that exist and will continue to exist.

Did you read about the power of positive thinking, and think - that's it! No need for anything icky like getting near actual children...

Do something - plant tomatoes in your window box, clear rubbish from a local potential beauty spot, babysit for some young Mum who's going nuts trying to manage alone - just lay off the airy-fairy, cloud cuckoo stuff - or at least have the common decency to keep it private, like other masturbatory activity...

Because - do the math, here - if 1 thought of a child being beaten, starved or tortured had a physical effect on the world, I've committed murder about seven times by reading about Rwanda, Dave Pelzer, and so on, and so forth.

Do you really believe that? How old are you? Four? Because my six year old has already figured out that flying ponies exist *in* her mind, but she's not getting one for Christmas...

Prayer is valuable. thought may or may not be. Prayer certainly is.

Here in the Western world anyone can start making a difference. How about eating one meal less a week?, putting the money in a jar and sending it to a charity once a year.

Or changing the light bulbs in your house to those environmentally good ones?

Or putting the correct air in your car tires - I heard that that is a very good way to save on gas use.

or hanging out the clothes on racks in the house to dry instead of the dryer?

All things that will reduce our energy expenditure and make the $$ go further, so that more can be given to the GOOD causes.

I would not waste my time trying to dream an impossible dream, because you can't feed starving children those. Instead, I would help out to the best of my abilities and within the limits of my resources.
