u could be the scarecrow or the witch even if they arent the nicest roles doing something different can be a great expirience and can help on acting skills

Any role is good, be happy you got a part.

But.....If your short try a munchkin, that way you can watch the show once your done acting, but the good witch is also a good role. Also since you say you talk very country try Auntie Em or anyone else who was at dorthy 's house.

Glynda, the good witch. With makeup, you could be Auntie Em. With green makeup, you could be The Wicked Witch of the West. Our local theatre group did Wizard of Oz with children as Munchkins. It went over very well. Break a leg!

If you believe in the theatre, all the roles are equally good regardless of size. Always work for the best of the show, not for the best of yourself.
