In my Hotmail account, I received an e-mail from Yahoo! Member Services (my-login-request@cc.yahoo-inc.com), asking to verify my Hotmail account (known by Yahoo! as alternative address). This e-mail was indicated by Hotmail as being "blocked for your safety". Earlier, through Yahoo! Answers, I refused to verify this address.
Question 1: Are "my-login-request@cc.yahoo-inc.com" and (Reply-to:) "my-yahoo-register@cc.yahoo-inc.com" regular accounts with Yahoo! ?
Question 2: If so, why does Hotmail indicate this message as being dangerous (phishing) ?
Question 3: If so, why doesn't Yahoo! find a better way to request verification of alternative e-mail address ?
Question 4: This message being forwarded from my Hotmail account to phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com, didn't produce any reply from Yahoo! Is this the usual procedure with Yahoo! ?

it sounds odd, there are many who use fake yahoo addresses or names to contact people, i would be very cautious, use this form to ask them if that is really them

i have never heard of yahoo wanting to verify an alternate email address, nor have i seen anything from them with an address of yahoo-inc, i have been with Yahoo for over 10 years, have had multiple alternate email accounts, and they have never asked to verify one, any contact they needed with you they will do threw your Yahoo email account, so you are right, never give out any information until you are certain
