Sarah Elizabeth or Jessica Leigh? Husband and I are expecting in November, and we want to know which name sounds better.

Thanks!

I kinda like Sarah Elizabeth better. I don't really know why, I just like the sound of it.

I have always been partial to the name Jessica. I always said if I had a girl I would name her Jessica Layne. Sarah is also very pretty though I have never cared much for the name Elizabeth. And I agree with the other person about the spelling of Leigh.

Hey. I like both of the names. My favorite would be Sarah Elizabeth but I'm a little biased as it's my cousin's name.My Sarah was named after the song. It's a beautiful song and a beautiful name. Jessica Leigh is nice too but my instinct says Sarah Elizabeth. That was my first choice when I first read the question. Both names are gorgeous and so you can't go wrong with either of them. Good luck to you and Congratulations on your little princess!

Sarah Elizabeth. Both the first and middle names are timeless ... not trendy or overused, and certainly not dated. Also, the two give her plenty of nickname options over the years -- Sadie, Sally, Elle, Liza, Lily, Betsy, Bess, etc. (just a few ... Elizabeth offers plenty!).

Jessica Leigh is just very dated in its entirety. More like a name -- or combo, in full, really! -- that would have been very popular back in 1974, but now just sounds overused and boring, to be blunt. It only recently dropped out of the top ten after decades of overuse, and is still quite common (#32 on the SSA's top 1000 list from 2006!) thanks to the J-names trend, so hopefully you know what I mean.

If you're going to use a popular name, might as well be a classic, right?! ;)

Sarah Elizabeth
It's classic and strong. It doesn't sound dated. Jessica Leigh sounds like the 80's. I can see the big hair.
Sarah Elizabeth is regal!

Jessica Leigh. Mostly because I like Leigh and the way it's spelled. Also, the Jessica's I know tend to be very intelligent & happy, and the Sarah's I know are all extremely flighty & selfish. But maybe that's just in Az. ;-)
