Oil leak in a 1986 jaguar?

I took it to the mechanic today,they said it's a oil cooling line that needs to be replaced,and that the hose is $300. look the car is old I just use it around town. is there any other way to fix this??

Yes take the pipe off and take it to a hydraulic specialist one that replaces tractor hydraulic pipes he will do it for a lot less than $300.
