No. If you travel around the U.S. you will enjoy and appreciate these differences. They make the country interesting. There are more commonalities than differences.

We as a nation tried what I think you are saying. A weak central government did not work.

As for states leaving the Union, there was a little thing called the War between the States (American Civil War) that stopped that idea.

No. It can't be argued that people in Alabama speak a different language than people in New York. There are many more divergent dialects of English outside the United States. This is a complete overreaction. People from different states get along with each other and communicate all the time. Their differences are things like, "Should I have to pay 20% of my income to the government in taxes or 35%?" "Should I vote for the millionaire that that supports abortion or the millionaire who doesn't support abortion but won't overturn it anyway?" This isn't exactly, "Are black folks property or human beings?" -- and we overcame that.
Europe is slowly becoming more united, and they actually have different languages, cultures, loyalties, etc. America is even more united. Anyone who might have convinced you otherwise is completely exaggerating.

dude are you serious. You have a lot more common with people with the south then you think of. First of all we all watch the same tv shows. We all shop at the same stores "walmart" we all watch the same movies. We all listen to the same music. We pretty much eat the same type of food. Might be a litte different but its still american. America might be divided in politics but in culutre we are the same.

There's a lot of diverse nations - Canada and India come to mind - that are making it. As long as everyone is eating, there won't be revolutionary sentiment to change anything.

We have managed for over 200 years. And what we all have in common is that we consider ourselves to be Americans.

I think it makes sense...we seem to be badly split on cultural/social/political/religious lines. I'd consider two countries....ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI, NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, OH, MI,WI,MN, WA, OR, CA, FL, NM, HI, 'couple others, the rest in another country.....we'd all be happier, i think.
