Specifically, if most of humanity were wiped out tomorrow and assuming that I had managed to hang on to my laptop, where can I download all the information I would need to survive, preferably one package. And, yes, I know that I probably wouldn't be able to power my compy for long but let's just assume I found a whole ton of batteries.

In a catastrophe that large, I doubt your laptop would even connect to the internet to even look-up any information.

....But at least you could use your laptop as a blunt weapon to club zombies with.

Living with this much fear and anxiety is far worse than the actual catastrophe. giving up living for some non-specific fear is something that I would never do.

Look under US Government pamphlets. Also the "Mormon" aka LDS Church puts our alot of survival type information and suggestions.
