i asked once before, and didnt get a very good answer, so hopefully this time i get one that actually helps.

most of the electricity we use was generated by fossil fuels. The burning of these fuels puts lots of CO2 in the atmosphere which could be a cause for global warming. However, it is better that the fuels be burned by the utility company as opposed to having thousands of fires burning in your town. So electricity itself is clean, its just the method of getting it that causes environmental concern.

The base load of electric use can be generated by the utility company with minimum polution, using water/gravity, air, solar, geothermal and nuclear sources. The peak demand periods by consumers are where most of the 'dirty' generation takes place. so people can make a significant contribution both by adjusting their consumption patterns and being more efficient in power use.

2 much electercity is bad for the environment cuz u r usin alot more technology to create the electercity in the first place n usin more we r just wastin energy which cud b saved n help the enviromentt??
