i am starting to take st johns wort with 1000mg per capsule and 0.3 hypericin (cant spell).
how long does it take to kick in usually, and how long does each caps last?
i take it at around 8.30 am, just one a day. x

The effect varies greatly with each person because we are all so different.
My wife feels the effect within minutes and I usually don't notice a great change even after hours.

If you are taking any other medications you need to be careful. St John's Wart effects meds and can make your birth control pills useless. I tried it to reduce symptoms of depression but was not impressed with the results. I know that this is just considered to be a harmless herbal remedy, but like many herbs, there are Strong side-effects and not many people know about them.
