Well, f(x) means the same thing as using the letter y.

In other words, f(x) = y and y = f(x).

If we write your question as y = -2, this is a linear equation.

It's not quadratic because there is nothing raised to the second power.

It's a function because it passes the vertical line test.

It's not a one-to-one function because it fails the horizontal line test.

f(x) = -2 is a function but it is also constant because for any value of x that you use, you will also get -2 this would look like a horizontal line a y = -2
