Budding is an advantage because:
1. It's a relatively fast method of reproduction.
2. It makes more organisms with the same characteristics when the environmental conditions are favorable. If the environment was good for the parent, then the budded offspring should also be well-suited to that environment.

The meristem is the growth region in plants.
1. Apical meristems help plant parts grow longer. Apical meristems are at the tips of stems, branches, and roots.
2. Lateral meristems help plant parts grow wider. Lateral meristems are found just below the bark of woody plants, as well as between the xylem and phloem. Dicot plants have lateral meristem between the xylem and phloem in the roots and stems.
