what would you tell a middle schooler about managing there time, should they set aside time for homework take breaks, do it right away etc. ?

They should map out what they do in a day and determine roughly how long it takes them and make a schedule but be sure to add leeway into it for unforseen things that take longer than normal.

I teach middle school and I'm not telling a middle schooler anything--I'm asking them to submit a time management contract and have all parties sign. Then each Friday they present to the class and re set the goal. They need to have their own "buy-in"

Really, as dumb as I sound right now for a middle schooler the best thing to do is do your work right away because education is the top priority. Maybe not for everybody but it might prove of some use
