That is a slightly romanticizing expression, probably from before the days we knew how to sequence the DNA of a whole organism.

Today DNA sequences have more become an IP rights enforcement issue for patent/IP attorneys than anything else. Sadly, one has to say, the US legal system has wholeheartedly sold out on that "secret".

DNA is a molecule capable of replication and information storage. As such chains of molecules made of DNA can form genes.

i never heard that but if i had to guess then i would say becuase if we could completely understand it %100 then we could take the defects in humans such as disabilities and weakness and make everyone perfect by reconstructing it.
