how do i find a legit agent for acting/ modeling?

There are legit agencies in most states across the country. While the mainstream modeling world is based in NY there are plenty of opportunities in other locales, especially Vegas. You have so many local magazine ads, it's ridiculous. Some talent agents also have modeling divisions so when you submit your photo for representation it may be a good idea to submit a headshot and a composite and state in your cover letter that you are seeking representation for modeling as wel as theatrical (tv & film) and commercial.

Please remember that if you are under age that you need to have your parent do this for you. For acting you need to have training and a resume so make sure you find legitimate classes with no strings attached (no classes from anyone who promises to get you work or representation) and build your resume with theatre credit, student and indie films (find auditions on backstage.com and actorsaccess.com)

dontcha get sick of NY being the only place in the world? Of course there are legit agencies in Las Vegas. Do a web search of Talent Agents in Las Vegas and read some web sites. choose one that looks good and call and get some info, if they are not somehow conneted with "escort services" or "adult entertainment" and they do not ask you to take lessons or pay anything up front, they are probably legit. You can always send me the name of the agency and I will scope it out for you as best I can and let you know what I think.

The modeling industry is located in New York City.

There may not be any legitiamate agencies in Las Vegas.

Do not go to scam agencies, such as Barbizon and John Robert Powers.

agencies especially the top ones dont just pick anyone. REMember they get money off of commission so they have to make sure you will work . i recommend first getting a manager.
